OpenApron requires all registrants to follow our simple guidelines in order to effectively book and complete a dinner party booking. All registrants must confirm with the following:
- A valid email address
- A valid telephone number
- An uploaded profile photo of choice
- Payment information
It is important for Hosts to feel confident each time a Chef cooks at their home, the Chef’s home, or a rented space. That is why we require certain information from both parties to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. Please take a look at the About Me section on a Chef’s profile page for any particular rules they may have.
Commit to your booking
Please commit to your booking. Cancelling on a Chef outside of the agreed cancellation period will result in the full amount to be charged to the Host. Some Chefs may not allow cancellations at all. Why? The Chef may have already bought all of the ingredients and reserved the availability for you and nobody else. Some ingredients are expensive to source - for example, fresh truffles are expensive and will only be fresh for a short duration.
Easy steps to book a dinner party
- You may search for Chefs in your area, search according to cuisines (French, Chinese, American etc), and/or style (for example: buffet, plated dinners, family style).
- Add your payment details
- Select your desired menu - be sure to look at the PAX (Price Per Person), and cancellation policy. You may choose to list special requests or allergies when booking.
- You will receive an email notification once your booking is confirmed by the Chef.
Note: communication is key to every Chef/Host relationship. Please be sure to use the messaging system and ask each other questions if needed.
